Regulatory Affairs Manager

Assure compliance and accuracy on domestic and international nutrition and labeling regulatory requirements as well as applicable standards and policies. Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Monitor and implement USDA and FDA regulatory labeling laws and policies resulting in compliant labels Provide risk assessment and guidance on labeling claims and callouts, including social media promoting Manage regulatory team priorities and delegate projects Act as technical resource to cross functional teams and external customers Evaluate labels for appropriate regulatory jurisdiction and approval path Review plant generated exceptions and give direction to maintain amenability and rigor of product labeling Support resolution of local and national regulatory agency disputes involving labeling documentation and substantiation Stay informed about pending regulations in order to implement any needed revisions. Maintain and continually develop relationships with regulating agencies so as to influence labeling requirements. Implement and maintain ingredient and finished product specifications. Other duties as needed or required Qualifications: B.S. or higher in a technical field (e.g. Dietetics, Food Science, or related field) Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in food labeling & regulations (FDA, USDA) In depth knowledge of USDA and FDA food labeling regulations Ability to assess risk and make strategic judgements in complicated circumstances Confidence in communication with regulatory agencies and cross functional teams Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
