Heavy Equipment Operator

As an Equipment Operator, you will play a vital role in supporting a variety of outdoor construction projects, operating and maintaining a range of heavy and light equipment. Responsibilities Operate and maintain equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, tractors, skid steers, and trucks for landscaping, excavation, and trail-building projects Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate and efficient equipment use according to project specifications Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation Coordinate with crew members to complete projects on schedule and to company standards Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, including OSHA standards, to maintain a safe work environment Assist co-workers as needed to ensure successful project completion Utilize or learn relevant computer and technology skills as required for the position Qualifications High school diploma or GED 2+ years of experience operating equipment in landscaping, construction, masonry, utility, or public works settings Experience with a variety of equipment, including excavators, front-loaders, trucks, tractors, skid steers, and chippers Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints Mechanical aptitude for performing basic equipment maintenance and repairs Strong communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of safety practices and regulations related to equipment operation Reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail Valid driver’s license Compensation $24 - $30 per hour , depending on experience.
