Associate Attorney - Personal Injury

Litigation AttorneyOur client is an established plaintiff-side personal injury firm, seeking a litigation attorney to join our team handling a general personal injury caseload. This is a meaningful opportunity for an attorney who wants real responsibility on their files and the chance to develop into a seasoned litigator.The right candidate will handle cases from intake through resolution, working alongside a collaborative team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff who are committed to securing results for our clients.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle an active caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury matters in New York state and federal courts, from case evaluation and filing through settlementLitigate a range of case types, including motor vehicle, premises liability, trip and fall, construction and Labor Law, and other negligence mattersHandle all phases of litigation including depositions, court appearances, and motion practiceWork with retained experts and manage discovery on cases requiring expert proofAssist the Trial Department with preparation and presentation of trials. Trial work is encouraged but not requiredParticipate in internal file reviews, litigation strategy meetings, and firm training.RequirementsActive New York bar license in good standingMinimum of 5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experienceExperience handling automobile, trip and fall, premises liability, or construction accident mattersAbility to move an active caseload forward with appropriate partner oversightStrong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and legal research skillsDeposition and courtroom experience; trial experience a plus but not a requirementProfessional, responsive client service skills and sound judgmentPreferred BackgroundExperience with wrongful death and catastrophic injury claimsDemonstrated ability with complex personal injury matters involving multiple expertsComfortable preparing witnesses and taking and defending depositionsHandled opposing complex motions and oral argumentsExperience working closely with paralegals and support staffFamiliarity with a legal case management system (SmartAdvocate or comparable) and NYSCEFCompensation & BenefitsBase salary of $175,000 - $250,000, commensurate with experienceOrigination fee of 33% for all negligence matters brought into the firmPerformance-based bonusMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchingPaid time off plus paid holidaysWorkplace flexibilityCollaborative, supportive firm culture with genuine growth potentialHybrid work flexibility available.Location: Farmingdale, NY Protouch Staffing
