The Huntley Hotel sits two blocks from the ocean in Santa Monica, home to The Penthouse, a 220-seat rooftop steakhouse and raw bar on the 18th floor with panoramic views from Malibu to Palos Verdes. Our food and beverage operation spans four outlets: The Penthouse, Banquets & Events, In-Room Dining, and our lobby café. We serve an affluent, well-traveled Westside clientele that expects polish at every touchpoint, and we build teams that deliver it.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, service-driven Food & Beverage Manager to lead front-of-house operations across all four outlets. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, this role owns the daily guest experience: leading and developing FOH teams, upholding service standards, managing labor and cost controls, and maintaining a visible, hands-on presence on the floor. This is a leadership role for someone who runs toward peak service, not away from it.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Maintain a strong floor presence during peak service periods across all outlets
• Ensure service is polished, attentive, and consistent from the rooftop to the room
• Resolve guest concerns in the moment with professionalism and ownership

Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house teams and shift leads
• Deliver ongoing training, structured feedback, and performance management
• Build a culture rooted in accountability, hospitality, and pride in the work

Operations

• Oversee daily FOH operations across The Penthouse, Banquets & Events, In-Room Dining, and café
• Drive service flow, efficiency, and outlet-level performance
• Monitor labor, revenue, cover counts, and guest satisfaction metrics, and act on what they show

Standards & Systems

• Implement and enforce clear service standards and operating procedures
• Ensure consistent execution through training, floor coaching, and follow-through
• Manage scheduling and labor cost controls within budget

Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and California labor requirements
• Maintain current food safety and responsible beverage service certifications across the team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive food and beverage leadership in fine dining or luxury hospitality
• Hotel F&B experience strongly preferred; multi-outlet experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success managing labor budgets, scheduling, and cost controls
• Banquet and event execution experience a plus
• Proficient in POS, reservation, and labor reporting systems (Micros / OpenTable)
• Wine and beverage knowledge a must
• California Food Handler certification and RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience
