Grants Specialist

Job Title

Provide analytical, financial, and training activities in support of contract and grant proposal development, grant-writing, funding, administration, and budget development.

Engage in pre-award proposal initiatives, manage funds post-award, and conduct closeout activities for federal, state, local, and private sponsors.

Analyze research funding trends and sources, forecast, plan, and manage research portfolios.

Coordinate and develop proposals, contracts, and other agreements; review proposals to ensure institutional compliance and program success.

Negotiate, administer, and monitor contract and grant awards, ensuring compliance with regulations, terms, and conditions.

Manage financial reporting and sub award/subcontract issuance and administration.

Familiarity with Pre-Award Research Administration, Budget Development, and Proposal submission, especially with National Institutes of Health (NIH) applications.

In-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function.

Ability to analyze problems/issues of diverse scope and determine solutions.

Experience as a seasoned research administrator to independently develop and oversee research proposals, awards, and transactions related to contract and grant management.

Ability to work on complex proposals and awards involving multiple investigators and/or multiple sub awards.

Guidance skills for less experienced staff.

Opportunity to obtain delegated signature authority upon successful completion of certification.
