School Nurse Contract Position

Qualifications and Experience

• Active RN license in the state of Illinois required
• Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in school environments, highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of current nursing practices, emergency response, and health protocols
• Ability to maintain accurate health records and adhere to privacy regulations (FERPA & HIPAA)
• Exceptional communication skills to connect with students, parents, and faculty

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and address student health needs, delivering first aid, medication, and ongoing care for acute and chronic conditions
• Develop and implement care plans for students with specific healthcare requirements
• Educate students and staff on health topics, disease prevention, and safe practices
• Collaborate closely with educators, counselors, and parents to support student wellness and success in the classroom
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, manage documentation, and maintain clinic supplies
• Ensure compliance with state and local health regulations
