Preferred Qualifications:

• Active State Special Education Teaching License
• Demonstrated leadership in managing a High School Life Skills or self-contained classroom
• Experience developing and implementing functional academic lessons and adaptive living skills
• In-depth knowledge of high school transition planning, including vocational preparation and post-secondary pathways
• Strong ability to lead and collaborate with paraprofessionals within a specialized setting

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instruction in functional academics, daily living activities, and community-based learning
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and individualized programs tailored to each student’s needs and goals
• Guide students through post-secondary transition planning, fostering independence in every aspect of their education
• Oversee classroom management, ensuring a safe and supportive environment while supervising and mentoring paraprofessional staff
• Collaborate closely with families, service providers, and related staff to maximize student growth and outcomes
