Make a real difference each day working with students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). This contract position offers the opportunity to empower and support a small, focused caseload of approximately 9 students, allowing for a personalized approach and the ability to see meaningful growth over the academic year.

This role is located onsite and supports an elementary school environment with a collaborative staff and a consistent Monday through Friday schedule. You’ll engage with colleagues, families, and support personnel to create inclusive and effective learning experiences.

Qualifications:

• Active Minnesota Teaching Certification is required (Tier 3 or 4); must be attached with your resume to be considered.
• Licensed in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for individualized instruction and student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and instruct a caseload of approximately 9 students with DCD.
• Develop, implement, and assess Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Adapt curriculum and instruction for students’ unique cognitive and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to foster student success.
• Monitor and document student progress and communicate results regularly.
• Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages engagement and growth.

This school-based contract role is scheduled for approximately 37.5 hours per week, with standard daytime hours and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The assignment runs from late August 2026 through early June 2027, providing stability and a predictable routine.
