Financial Systems Accountant for AI Training

Role Overview

Apply accounting judgment and hands-on financial systems expertise to help train and improve next-generation AI systems. This remote contract role focuses on real-world accounting workflows, from transaction capture and reconciliations through month-end close and financial reporting. No general AI background is required, but prior paid human-data work supporting AI models is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated accounting treatments, calculations, journal entries, and explanations for technical accuracy against established accounting standards.
• Review, analyze, and annotate financial statements, reconciliations, and close workpapers; identify misstatements and provide the correct treatment and rationale.
• Assess accounting workflows and financial-systems logic across NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, and Dynamics 365.
• Apply written rubrics and grading guidelines when rating or ranking model outputs, escalating ambiguous cases when needed.
• Create realistic accounting scenarios and reference answers based on modern financial-systems practices.
• Provide clear, actionable written feedback that supports ongoing AI-system improvement.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in financial accounting, month-end close, corporate accounting, audit, bookkeeping, financial reporting, management or cost accounting, or FP&A with substantive accounting responsibilities.
• Experience preparing or reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, or financial statements.
• Hands-on experience with financial systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365, Workday, or comparable platforms.
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency. Experience with accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial systems is required; familiarity with GSAP is also requested.
• Experience with BlackLine, Bill.com, Ramp, Brex, Avalara, Anaplan, Tableau, or Power BI is highly valued.
• Prior paid experience supporting AI training through annotation, data labeling, RLHF, AI-response evaluation, model evaluation, or rubric-based grading. Using AI-enabled accounting-software features alone does not meet this requirement.
• Strong written and verbal English skills, B2 level or above.
• Reliable internet access and immediate availability.

Work Terms

• Remote independent-contractor engagement.

Compensation

• $90 to $170 per hour.
