Painter Technician

Responsibilities of the Position Paint and repair projects on a variety of fleet vehicles, containers, compactors, and equipment. Prepare surfaces to be painted, including sanding and scraping, and apply decals as required. Perform vehicle body repair work (specific to Norwood Location). Maintain inventory and inspect materials to identify problems or defects. Maintain painting and decaling supplies and complete required inventory and paperwork using a computer system. Operate standard shop hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment. Keep a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company, OSHA and ANSI standards. Ensure all safety decals are on completed jobs. Assist in other projects or areas of the shop as needed. Shift: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Perform tasks in a safe manner and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position Ability to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use a computer to account for own labor hours daily. Maintain a positive work environment and foster good relationships with customers, clients, coworkers, and management. Maintain a safe environment for self and others. Self-starter with an aggressive work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Professional interaction with internal and external customers. Must be able to pass pulmonary and respirator fit tests. Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position 1 year airless paint sprayer experience preferred. 1 year of fiberglass resin experience preferred. Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday Continuously lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs. Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions. Continuously working in areas with dust, odors, mist, gases, or other airborne matter. Continuously stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Frequently climbing and/or balancing. Additional Working Conditions Ability to travel between offices, as required. Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed. Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
