Financial Controller | PE-backed technology company | Mesa, AZ Compensation: $180,000 to $200,000 base + bonus + long-term incentive eligibility. Our client, a private equity-backed developer of graphite processing technology producing anode materials for lithium-ion EV batteries, is looking to hire a Financial Controller. The company is transitioning from pilot-scale production toward its first commercial facility, and this hire will be instrumental in establishing the financial control environment that supports that growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will take ownership of the core accounting function while the organization scales. The CFO, placed by the private equity sponsor, has been direct about wanting a successor to develop into the role over the medium term. This is a controllership seat with genuine visibility to the executive team and the board, positioned as a platform toward a future CFO track rather than a terminal position. Core mandate: Full ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting General ledger integrity, reconciliations, and internal controls Accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury oversight ERP implementation and cross-functional system integration Building and developing the accounting team Candidate profile: 15 or more years of progressive accounting and controllership experience, ideally within mining, energy storage, manufacturing, or another capital-intensive, project-based sector CPA required or strongly preferred; Big 4 or Top 10 public accounting background ideal A combination of public and private company experience Demonstrated ability to prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and manage external audits Experience with ERP implementation, M&A, or acquisition integration is a strong plus Willingness to relocate within the next one to two years as the company anticipates a headquarters move This is a rare mandate for a finance professional seeking to operate at the intersection of institutional rigor and entrepreneurial build-out, with a defined line of sight to the C-suite. #J-18808-Ljbffr Hoxton Circle
