Loan Originator

Star Financial is a direct mortgage lender serving California (with expansion into TX & FL). As a Loan Officer , you’ll originate residential mortgages from company-generated leads and self-sourced leads, leverage our modern tech stack (POS, LendingPad LOS, CRM), and collaborate closely with our in-house processing/underwriting team to deliver smooth, on-time closings. Skills Convert inbound leads and referral opportunities into complete applications and funded loans. Conduct borrower consultations, assess needs, and present product options across Conventional, FHA, VA, and Non-QM (Bank Statements, DSCR, 1099-Only, Asset Depletion, ITIN, Foreign National). Price scenarios, structure files, and lock rates in coordination with secondary/lock desk. Drive files from application through funding with proactive milestone communication. Collect/document income, assets, credit, and collateral per program requirements. Partner with processing, underwriting, funding, to clear conditions and meet contract dates. Experience Compliance & Quality Adhere to LO Comp, TILA/RESPA (TRID), ECOA, Fair Lending, and company policies. Maintain accurate disclosures, intent to proceed, and compliant advertising/communications. Identify and resolve red flags early; prevent EPD/EPO risks with sound loan structuring. Relationship Development Build and nurture Realtor®, builder, and community-partner relationships; attend local events. Provide market/credit education to borrowers and partners; offer bilingual support when applicable. Maintain CRM hygiene (tasks, notes, stages); forecast pipeline and production weekly. Participate in sales meetings, trainings, call blocks, and marketing campaigns. Qualifications Required Active NMLS and CA DFPI MLO license in good standing. 2+ years recent retail origination experience. Proven pipeline discipline and file quality; strong communication and follow-through. On-site availability in Orange County, CA.
