Our client is a family-oriented private practice that provides full-service vision care for children and adults and is hiring an Optometrist. For their brand new private practice setting. Join a practice offering advanced eye care, Dry Eye management, and aesthetic services including IPL and LLLT.

This is a brand new practice including the building, the equipment, and frames.

Job Description

Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, diagnosing potential vision imparities, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. To be successful in this role, the optometrist should be detail oriented, able to treat patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly. Ultimately, you will ensure the accurate diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision tests
• Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma
• Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to visual imparities based on each patient’s specific case and medical history
• Prescribe medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses
• Advise patients on proper eye care techniques
• Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients
• Advise patients on how to use and maintain their contact lenses
• Co-management of patients with local Ophthalmologists

Additionally with organization growth this position could be extended responsibilities as Medical Director. Those responsibilities beyond patient care would include:

Development of clinical protocols and best practices

• Clinical oversight and quality assurance
• Doctor onboarding and mentorship
• Technician training and development
• Leadership of specialty service offerings
• Support with recruiting and physician development
• Guidance on equipment, technology, and clinical workflow decisions
• Assisting with the development and scaling of future organization locations

Requirements

• Degree in Optometry, or currently enrolled in your 4th year of Optometry school
• In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects
• The ability to explain medical terms in a clear and concise manner
