Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 180–200 visits per day, serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Manage a patient assignment at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, performing independent lab draws and IV starts
• Care for patients across a broad acuity spectrum including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and neurological presentations; recognize and facilitate appropriate transfers when indicated
• Operate within a department supported by 24/7 respiratory therapy, central monitoring techs, nurse aides/paramedics (5–6 per shift), and on-campus pharmacy coverage
• Document and manage patient care using Meditech 6.15 EMR
• Adhere to department protocols including every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotation requirements, Caribbean Blue scrub dress code, and auto lunch deduction policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 5 years of emergency room nursing experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR (version 6.15 preferred)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS or NIHSS, and CPI
• Ability to complete unit-specific orientation within the first week of assignment (rollover requires prior leadership approval)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a trauma-receiving or CVA-designated emergency department
• Familiarity with behavioral health protocols and working alongside a dedicated psychiatric lock-down unit within the ED
• Experience managing ventilated patients in an emergency department setting pending admission
