JOB OVERVIEW
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services.
ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain proper approvals of invoices prior to processing
- Enter vendor invoices accurately and timely into accounting system
- Prepare, review and process weekly payment run for approved vendor invoices
- Professionally communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and address payment inquiries
- Review and reconcile statements
- Assess and apply use tax on purchases in compliance with applicable regulations
- Other duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Experience: good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting experience in addition to computer skills and good numerical skills
- High degree of accuracy and has excellent data entry and oral communication
- Must be able to work well with others and meet deadlines
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Problem Solving – the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Planning/organizing – the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position does not require travel.
