Operations Specialist (Pathway to Business Management)

Requirements & Compliance

About the Role

JLGOV is seeking a sharp, highly articulate individual for our Business Management Development Program . In this role, you will start out handling all administrative functions of the business as an Operations Specialist while actively supporting the CEO.

This performance-based roadmap is designed to groom you into the person who ultimately runs core business management while shadowing leadership.  Candidates must bring foundational administrative, Microsoft Excel, technical, and communication skills on day one.

• Year 1: Fully on-site for intensive hands-on mentorship, executive support, and operational training (includes a structured 60-day onboarding and evaluation period).
• Year 2+: Advance into the Business Manager role ($23.00/hr) and become eligible for a hybrid schedule (2–3 days per week on-site) upon successful completion of performance milestones.

Must-Have Core Skills (Required to Apply)

• Highly Articulate & Professional: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the company fluently across all executive correspondence and vendor interactions.
• Very Good Excel Proficiency: Must come to the table with strong, practical Excel skills—specifically the ability to build clean charts, use standard formulas, and maintain organized data trackers.
• Administrative Experience: Minimum 18 months of experience working in a professional office or corporate environment, managing day-to-day administrative tasks.
• People & Vendor Friendly: A warm, approachable demeanor to serve as a welcoming, professional liaison when working with third-party vendors, clients, and partners.
• Out-of-the-Box Thinking: Resourceful problem-solver who can look at a workflow and think creatively to optimize processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of all daily administrative functions of the business, including executive calendar management, articulate correspondence, meeting coordination, and travel planning.
• Provide direct, high-level operational support to the CEO.
• Utilize your Excel skills, learn and use AI productivity tools to improve reporting, data tracking, and workflow automation.
• Manage vendor relationships, procurement tracking, and general office operations with a professional and friendly approach.
• Coordinate smoothly with JLGOV's third-party Human Resources and Accounting providers, support employee onboarding, and assist with corporate initiatives while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Advancement Milestones to Business Manager

To graduate into the Year 2 Business Manager role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to independently manage executive priorities, lead vendor procurement, coordinate HR/Accounting activities, and elevate business reporting through Excel and workflow automation.
