Location: Des Plaines, IL
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Des Plaines, IL, is seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong customer service background in a manufacturing environment. Experience in electrical manufacturing is highly preferred .

The Customer Service Representative will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal departments, ensuring accurate order processing, timely communication, and exceptional customer support throughout the order lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate communication regarding customer orders, product availability, lead times, and pricing.
• Process customer orders efficiently while ensuring all product specifications and shipping requirements are met.
• Maintain and update customer records, order information, and shipping arrangements within company systems.
• Monitor order status, identify potential delays, and proactively communicate solutions to ensure on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with Production, Sales, Quality, Engineering, and other internal teams to resolve customer concerns and order-related issues.
• Assist customers with inquiries, order changes, product information, and delivery updates.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional and responsive service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical or business-related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer service, order entry, or order processing role.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience in electrical manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory management software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience coordinating with production, logistics, and shipping departments is a plus.
