Tool Room MachinistResponsible for independently programming, setting up, and operating one or more CNC machines to produce high-quality parts from start to finish. This role requires interpreting engineering drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, performing inspections, making program and offset adjustments, troubleshooting machining issues, and following established workflows to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.Job Description:Independently program, setup, and operate a cell consisting of 1-4 CNC MachinesRead and interpret Engineering Drawings/Blueprints and setup sheetsProcess from start to finish goods. Includes selection of tooling required, order of operations required, etcPerform a 1st piece inspection of all new setupsMake necessary adjustments to programs and offsetsPerform spot checks before removing work piecesFollow predetermined workflow and move workpieces to the appropriate following operationOccasionally troubleshoot cutting tool failures, and run cutting tool trialsEffectively communicate any issues or concerns to managementWork safely and efficiently to produce quality parts in a timely mannerRequired Skills and EducationHigh School Diploma / GED5 years documented experience in tool makingProficient with CNC setup, and operation.Proficient with Conversation CNC Programming with MasterCAMProficient with Mazatrol, HAAS and Makino/Fanuc controllersExperience with Blueprints and GD&TExperience with tolerances = +/-.0005"Experience with Manual milling, Manual Lathes a bonusAbility to work any shift as neededAbout AAM:As a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier, AAM designs, engineers and manufactures Driveline and Metal Forming technologies to support electric, hybrid and internal combustion vehicles.
