Massachusetts Licensed Business Counsel

Serving as a key legal partner, the full-time Massachusetts Licensed Business Counsel will provide practical legal advice, navigate regulatory compliance, and manage commercial transactions for Cengage Work's workforce skills and career training business in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Develop a strong understanding of Cengage Work's products and business models while advising on legal and regulatory considerations Advise on federal and state regulatory frameworks impacting workforce education and training, and collaborate with teams to mitigate legal risks Draft, review, and negotiate agreements supporting Cengage Work offerings, while providing legal guidance for transaction strategy and execution Required qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership 4-7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a law firm or in-house setting Experience advising business teams on complex legal issues to support strategic objectives Strong analytical skills with a practical, business-oriented approach to risk management Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal projects across multiple stakeholders
