Lead SAP Finance Program Manager

Job Summary Location: Tampa, FL (4 days on-site per week required) Project Duration: 18 Months (Target Kickoff: July 2026) Environment: SAP ECC 6 to S/4HANA Conversion (Brownfield / Big Bang) Project Overview Our client, a global leader in heavy manufacturing and industrial materials, is embarking on an 18-month SAP S/4HANA conversion replacing a legacy ECC system. With a "Big Bang" go-live planned across a large North American operational footprint, the company has partnered with a Big 4 System Integrator (SI) to handle the technical build. We are seeking a senior SAP Finance Program Manager & Functional Liaison to act as the dedicated client‑side advocate. Because the internal finance team operates exceptionally lean, this leader will step in to bridge the gap between the business stakeholders and the SI. You will reverse‑engineer legacy processes, protect the internal team from implementation burnout, and ensure the SI designs a system that accurately supports the company's high‑volume AP, AR, Credit, and Treasury operations. Responsibilities SI Oversight & Governance: Act as the primary functional counterpart to the Big 4 System Integrator. Review and challenge their functional specifications to ensure the design aligns with the client's actual business needs, not just SI assumptions. Legacy Data Translation: Lead the "data understanding" phase. Profile and reverse‑engineer existing ECC configurations for AP, AR, and Credit to ensure clean data mapping (e.g., transitioning legacy Customers/Vendors to S/4HANA Business Partners). Treasury & In‑House Banking (IHB) Strategy: Guide the transition from highly manual legacy bank connections (direct file transmissions to multiple external banks and fintech partners) to modern S/4HANA Treasury models, assessing the impact of a potential shift to SAP In-House Banking/Cash. Business Liaison & Process Shield: Act as a buffer for the internal finance team, allowing them to maintain daily operations handling high‑volume global transactions without being overwhelmed by implementation demands. Testing & UAT Management: Design and govern the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy for the Big Bang rollout across dozens of regional facilities, ensuring all 3rd‑party bank files, credit segmentations, and AR transactions function flawlessly prior to cutover. Qualifications Experience: 12+ years of enterprise SAP FICO experience with a heavy focus on the Order‑to‑Cash (AR/Credit), Procure‑to‑Pay (AP), and Treasury lifecycles. S/4HANA Conversions: Must have proven experience navigating Brownfield / "Lift and Shift" S/4HANA migrations, understanding the mandatory structural changes required by S/4. Vendor Management: Extensive experience acting as a client‑side advisor, directly managing and auditing the work of Tier‑1 System Integrators (e.g., Deloitte, EY, Accenture, PwC). Treasury Acumen: Strong understanding of SAP Bank Communication Management (BCM), Electronic Bank Statements (EBS), and SAP In‑House Cash (IHC). Leadership Style: A "roll‑up‑your‑sleeves" program manager who can operate at the executive steering committee level while also diving into legacy data tables to solve mapping issues. Logistics: Must be able to commit to being on‑site in the Tampa, FL area 4 days a week for the duration of the critical project phases.
