Quick Facts Location: St. Louis, MO Start Date: 08/24/2026 End Date: 11/23/2026 Shift: Day shift, 06:00 - 18:30, Monday-Friday Hours/Week: 40 hours Employment Type: Contract Licenses/Certifications: Missouri license, BLS required, RNFA preferred Experience: Minimum 2 years of adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $167.70 Pay package discussed upon application Benefits include: Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Paid sick time in accordance with state, federal, and local laws 24/7 dedicated support team throughout your assignment What You’ll Do Provide first assist support in adult cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve repairs, and aortic procedures Assist during emergent and scheduled cardiac surgeries, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes Collaborate with a team of 5 cardiac surgeons and other healthcare professionals in a busy academic hospital setting Support intraoperative procedures such as sternotomies, chest tube placements, and use of specialized equipment like the Maquet EVH System Participate in post-operative care and contribute to multidisciplinary clinical procedures Follow hospital protocols, safety standards, and EMR documentation using Epic software What You Need Required: Board Certification in a relevant field Missouri license BLS certification At least 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience Preferred: RNFA certification About the Assignment This role is with a prominent academic hospital in St. Louis, specializing in complex cardiac surgeries. You will be supporting high-volume procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs and replacements, and emergent aortic surgeries.
