Quick Facts Location: 1201 South Grand Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63104 Start Date: 09/09/2026 End Date/Duration: 12/09/2026 Shift: Night shift (3x12-Hour shifts, 19:00 – 07:00) Hours/week: 36 hours/week Employment Type: Contract License/Certifications: Missouri license, BLS required, RNFA preferred Experience: Minimum 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $144.05 Benefits: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, and travel reimbursements when applicable Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated support team What You’ll Do Provide first assist support during complex adult cardiac surgeries, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic procedures Assist with prep, aseptic techniques, and intraoperative care using advanced equipment like the Maquet EVH System Support post-operative care, chest tube management, and temporary pacing wire placement Collaborate with a team of cardiac surgeons and intensivists to ensure optimal patient outcomes Manage adult patient care in an academic hospital setting, working efficiently within a multidisciplinary team Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards, documenting procedures accurately in Epic EMR What You Need Required: Missouri RN license Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery or First Assist Certification preferred BLS certification Minimum 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience Preferred: Experience with ECMO, Impella, or IABP procedures Familiarity with adult thoracic surgeries and intraoperative support About the Assignment This position is based at a respected academic hospital in St. Louis, MO, providing comprehensive adult cardiac surgical services.
