About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Global Research and Development to lead its R&D organization in the creation of new products and the advancement of next-generation technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing teams across hardware, software, and systems to ensure the delivery of innovative solutions to the market while upholding the performance and quality of existing products. This pivotal role involves setting the long-term R&D direction, aligning work with business priorities, and collaborating with global teams to drive both near- and long-term initiatives. The Head of Global R&D will also manage a distributed team, handle execution, budgeting, and ensure that projects are in line with broader business goals. Applicants for the Head of Global R&D position at the company should hold a Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in analytical instrumentation or chemistry automation. A strong technical foundation in software and instrumentation, particularly in electrical, electronics, and mechanical engineering, is essential, with a preference for experience in semiconductor or similar high-tech environments. The role requires at least five years of R&D leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to lead global, cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization. The ideal candidate will be adept at operating at the intersection of hardware and software development, and be skilled in collaborating across various functions and communicating complex ideas effectively. The position demands a results-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, international setting and is comfortable with up to 25% travel.
