We're looking for a Part‑Time Retail Store Specialist who can wow customers with exceptional customer service and support daily store operations in Newport News, VA. This part‑time position is scheduled for 20‑25 hours per week. What You’ll Do Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service while helping customers select safety footwear Learn product lines and explain features, fit and benefits to customers Learn and use Aetrex Foot Scanning Technology to help customers optimize fit Process sales transactions, including cash and credit card payments using POS systems and mobile checkout tools Look up customer information, purchase history and program details within company systems Maintain clean, organized and fully stocked showroom displays while supporting visual merchandising initiatives Merchandise incoming inventory and assist with inventory management and product organization Support local store growth through outreach, marketing and customer engagement efforts Assist with store operations and administrative support tasks as needed Help create a positive, team‑oriented store environment as a valued retail team member Cross‑train in other administrative office duties, ordering supplies, receiving mail, etc. Other duties as assigned What We’re Looking For At least 9 months of retail sales or customer service experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Friendly, dependable and customer‑focused attitude Ability to stay organized and manage multiple responsibilities Comfortable learning new systems and technology Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Experience handling cash and credit card transactions accurately Ability to learn and use our retail operating systems (Navision) Schedule Part‑time position Monday‑Friday 12pm‑5pm Approximately 20‑25 hours per week Flexible Availability Compensation & Benefits 401(k) plan with 50% employer match on the first 6% of employee base pay PTO is available after 90 days, accrued at 1 hour of PTO for every 30 hours worked Stable, long‑term career opportunities with room for growth and advancement Supportive, team‑oriented work environment Cross‑training and development opportunities across departments About Saf‑Gard We’ve been in the safety footwear business for more than 40 years.
