Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing procedures, applying the nursing process and critical thinking.
• Collect relevant patient data, assess preparation for surgery, and contribute to a care plan; implement and monitor intraoperative care to support safe outcomes.
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, circulator, and other team members; maintain sterile technique, safety, and infection control standards throughout procedures.
• Direct and supervise assigned nursing staff and perioperative team members; delegate duties appropriately and coordinate care with multidisciplinary partners.
• Provide patient and family education related to perioperative care, recovery expectations, and discharge planning; document care activities and outcomes.

Requirements

• Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (current and active)
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in OR or acute care settings
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Skills: Ability to work effectively in an OR/perioperative environment; strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork
• Other: On-call availability; ability to work in a hospital-based setting with variable schedules
