HLA Product Coordinator

Role Description

• Perform local and national inventory searches for HLA selected products or suitable HLA matched donors to fill both routine and urgent patient orders.
• Provide consultation services to both the external customer and the histocompatibility staff nationally to provide the best match HLA platelet units for highly sensitized patients.
• Provide training for new staff responsible for the management of HLA matched product; host medical students, fellows, technical staff, and laboratory visitors.
• Compile lists of potential donors for donation recruitment; assist with data entry tasks, reviews, and inventory management of the HLA typed donor database.
• Provide administrative support to internal and external customers including questions regarding sample requirements, assisting customers placing product orders through electronic and manual methods, facilitating the procurement and transport of product orders, and tracking problem shipments when necessary.
• Perform duties associated with receipt, coordination, shipment, and transport of donor and patient blood samples.
• Perform duties associated with the ordering, receiving, inspection, and preparation of supplies and reagents.
• Perform billing activities and contract and clinical trial management.
• Perform troubleshooting of software applications.
• Maintain, edit, and review computer and manual records to assure accurate record keeping.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records.
• Send various reports to internal and external customers as assigned.
• Maintain an orderly workspace.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of customer service and general office experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

• Skills & Abilities:
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer experience and familiarity with office automation (for example MS Word) desired.
  • Must possess critical-thinking skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Full working knowledge of job functions with substantial understanding of general job aspects.
• Contact is primarily within the department and occasionally outside of the organization.

Benefits

• This is a remote position based within the United States.
• Operates on a set schedule of Thursday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Consistency in supporting both routine operations and urgent, time-sensitive patient needs across national teams and customers.
