Position Summary

We are seeking a Referral Coordinator to join our expanding clerical team of dedicated professionals. The Referral Coordinator is responsible for managing patient referrals, insurance authorizations, and scheduling coordination to support timely patient care and efficient clinic operations. This role serves as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies while ensuring accurate documentation, strong communication, and a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals, insurance authorizations, and pre-certifications to support timely scheduling and continuity of care.
• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status, scheduling needs, and authorization requirements.
• Review provider schedules and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure efficient patient access and workflow management.
• Maintain accurate patient demographic, insurance, referral, and authorization information within the EMR system while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Support a positive patient experience by resolving referral or insurance issues promptly, assisting with administrative tasks, and working collaboratively with team members.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience handling insurance verification, prior authorization, and patient collections preferred
