Position Summary The Inclusion Coordinator supports the successful inclusion of children with disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral health needs, and other special needs within Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms. This role works collaboratively with families, teachers, specialists, and community partners to ensure children receive individualized support in learning environments that promote school readiness and social‑emotional development. The Coordinator ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, IDEA requirements, and state licensing while providing coaching, training, and technical assistance to staff. Location: 880 Clay St. San Francisco, CA Position: Full time, 40 hours per week. Responsibilities 1. Service Coordination & Individualized Support Coordinate referrals and services for children with identified disabilities, suspected delays, or special healthcare needs. Monitor referrals, screenings, evaluations, and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) or Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with the Support Services Manager. Ensure children receive specific accommodations and support services within inclusive classroom environments. Assist staff in implementing individualized goals and interventions for students. 2. Compliance, Monitoring & Data Management Maintain full compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and IDEA (Part B & C) requirements. Ensure accurate and timely completion of developmental screenings and follow‑up activities. Utilize data systems to track referrals, services, and compliance timelines while maintaining organized records. Participate in monitoring, planning, and tracking high‑quality services for students. 3. Staff Support & Professional Development Provide guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to teaching staff regarding inclusive practices and behavior support strategies. Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to support inclusive teaching and individualized instruction. Assist teachers in adapting curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom environments to meet diverse learning needs. Model effective inclusion strategies and facilitate professional development on topics such as trauma‑informed care and social‑emotional development. 4. Community Collaboration & Advocacy Communicate and collaborate with community partners and LEAs, such as GGRC and SFUSD. Build collaborative relationships with families, staff, and community agencies. Participate in weekend recruitment events to bring new children and families into the program. Requirements Experience: Minimum of three (3) years working with young children and families in early childhood, special education, or Head Start programs. Experience with children 0‑5 with disabilities is preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Regulatory Expertise: Strong knowledge of IDEA (Part B & C) and inclusive practices. Operational Skills: Excellent attention to detail for data entry and record‑keeping. Strong organizational and case‑management skills. Community Engagement: Experience collaborating with Golden Gate Regional Center (GGRC) and SFUSD for child referrals and services. Compensation and Benefits The pay range for this position is $64,430‑$106,070. A new hire generally starts between $64,430 and $87,250. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skills sets, relevant experience, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
