Role Description The Customer Service Specialist is a full‑time, mainly on‑site role based in Houston, TX. This position is responsible for handling inbound and outbound customer communications via phone, email, and other channels, ensuring timely, accurate information about shipments, schedules, and service issues. The specialist will be the customer's advocate, resolve customer inquiries and concerns, coordinate with operations and dispatch teams, and update systems with current status and documentation. Daily tasks include monitoring service performance, proactively communicating delays or changes, supporting customers with specialized cargo needs, and maintaining detailed records to support continuous improvement. The role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to enhance the customer experience and uphold Excargo’s safety and service standards. Qualifications Strong customer‑facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Support, with a focus on clear and professional communication. Ability to foster positive Customer Experience and Customer Satisfaction through problem‑solving and proactive follow‑up. Professional Phone Etiquette and comfort managing high call volumes and multiple communication channels. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast‑paced logistics environment. Experience in transportation, logistics, or a related industry is preferred but not required. Proficiency with common office software and customer management systems; ability to learn new tools quickly. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or relevant certifications are an advantage.
