Job Description

This entry-level Solderer Assembler role offers a hands-on opportunity to build, solder, and test electronic control panel products in a clean, temperature-controlled environment. You will assemble and configure products according to customer requirements, gaining valuable experience in electronics, soldering, and assembly while working a consistent first-shift schedule with some overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic products by soldering through-hole components and attaching sub-assembly circuit boards to product housings.

• Set up products according to specifications, ensuring all components are correctly installed and secured.

• Test assembled products for proper functionality, performance, and operation using established procedures.

• Configure products to meet specific customer requirements, including adjustments to settings, wiring, or components as needed.

• Read and interpret basic schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions to complete work accurately.

• Use hand tools, soldering tools, and electronic assembly equipment safely and effectively during daily tasks.

• Document work and test results using a computer-based system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.

• Assist with general production tasks and support other team members as needed, including duties outside the core job description.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following facility standards for cleanliness and safety.

• Follow all quality control procedures and report any product issues or defects to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience using basic hand tools in an assembly or similar environment.

• Soldering experience with through-hole components.

• Previous assembly experience, preferably in an electronic or mechanical setting.

• Ability to read and write in English to follow instructions and document work.

• Ability to use a computer for documentation and basic data entry.

• Comfort working with electronic assemblies and components.

• Willingness to work first shift, Monday through Friday, with overtime typically occurring after the scheduled shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with printed circuit (PC) boards.

• Experience working with sensors or gauges.

• Quality control (QC) experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.

• Interest in growing into a lead position within approximately 3–5 years.

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist with tasks outside the core role when needed.

Work Environment

The organization is an established electronics manufacturer with around three decades of history, led by a highly involved founder.

It produces signals and gauges that integrate into PLC boards and other electronic devices for a wide range of demanding applications.

The company operates on a smaller scale, fostering a close-knit atmosphere where many team members have built careers spanning more than 20 years and often contribute across multiple functions.

The production floor is extremely clean, and the entire facility is fully temperature controlled, providing a comfortable and consistent working environment.

As a Solderer Assembler, you will have your own workstation and can sit for most of the day while performing assembly and soldering tasks.

The environment allows the use of headphones while working, supporting focus and concentration.

Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on first shift, with the possibility that hours may change as needed and with overtime typically scheduled after the regular shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LIBERTYVILLE, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
