Overview Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit) travel assignment in Atlanta, GA. Start date August 17, 2026 for 13 weeks. Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for adult patients in the progressive care/step-down unit, focusing on conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
• Monitor patient status, interpret assessments, administer medications and IV therapies, and adjust care plans under physician and charge nurse guidance.
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff to ensure timely interventions, accurate documentation, and effective discharge planning.
• Perform ongoing patient and family education, promote safety and infection control, and respond to clinical changes or Code Blue events as appropriate.
• Utilize the electronic health record to document assessments, medications, procedures, and care plans; participate in unit rounds and care coordination activities.

Requirements

• Active RN license in the United States; Georgia licensure or eligibility/reciprocity as required by the assignment.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a medical-surgical, PCU, or step-down setting.
• Experience with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, CKD, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
• Ability to work a nights-based 2x4 schedule in a fast-paced hospital environment; strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
