You will be evaluated on a 30/60/90 day basis to assess your knowledge and job performance. After the 90-days the interns who meet performance expectations will be hired as an HVAC Technician Class I. Install, service, repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems. Utilize knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, and pipefitting. **Location:** + This role is based out of the Columbia, SC office and serves the surrounding metro area. **Essential Functions and Responsibilities:** _This posting covers HVAC Service Technician Intern Duties and are based on the candidate's qualifications below:_ **Intern Service Technician** + Changing Filters + Cleaning Coils, Basic Maintenance + Check and clean drains + Hook up gauges to the system + Provide excellent customer service **Qualifications:** + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Working knowledge of computer and tablets. + Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. + Ability to work well in a team environment. + Strong adaptability skills. **Required Experience, Certifications, and Education:** + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. + Trade/Technical School certification or degree preferred. + Valid Driver's License. + EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred **Physical Requirements:** Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work and tolerate confined spaces. Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes.
