RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST

Radiologic Technician must capture images of the highest quality while ensuring patient comfort and safety. They should explain procedures clearly, maintain a calm and compassionate demeanor with all patients, and obtain accurate images for thorough diagnostic review. Responsibilities Patient communication and preparation including removal of garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure and explaining how the process works. Positioning patients properly to obtain x‑rays. Setting the equipment to obtain the best density, detail, and contrast of the area being imaged. Taking preventative steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation. Applying their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the process to help the physician diagnose problems. Following physician instructions, preparing radiography equipment, positioning patients, and obtaining optimal images for diagnosis. Communicating calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all types of patients, including the elderly, ailing, and handicapped. Ensuring radiology orders are performed in a timely manner and that reporting is delivered within time limits and is of good quality. Working alternate hours: morning, evening, weekend shifts, or on‑call hours. Acting as backup for registration and clinical staff when there is a staffing shortage or high patient demand. Following compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Following clinic X‑ray regulations. Education and Experience Successful completion of a two‑year program in Radiologic Studies. Current Licensure as a Limited Medical Radiological through the Texas Medical Board. Current Licensure as a Registered Technologist through the Texas Medical Board. Radiology Technician must be in good standing with American Registry of Radiology Technologists. Current compliance with continuing medical education requirements. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Two years of related work experience required. Problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and multitasking abilities are a must. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web‑based applications. Capability to produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases. Essential Job Functions Frequently moving themselves in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments. Frequently remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Adjusting or moving objects up to 10‑15 pounds in all directions. Communicating with others to exchange information. Repeating motions that may include wrist, hand, and/or finger movements. Operating machinery. Operating motor vehicles. Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Assuming responsibility for hazardous conditions. Expectations Attendance and punctuality are necessary. The candidate must work well with a multidisciplinary team, solve problems, be self‑motivated, commit to excellence and high standards, possess excellent written and oral skills, and demonstrate strong organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills. They must multitask, manage priorities and workflow, show versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm, possess acute attention to detail, operate computer software with training, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The role requires an ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions, work independently with minimal supervision, and effectively interact with individuals at all organizational levels and external customers.
