PRN, as needed - Shift: Day-Weekend (United States of America) Location 11801 SOUTH FWY, BURLESON, Texas, 76028 Schedule & Compensation PRN Rate: $47.58 per hour Pay Range: $29.60 - $55.05 per hour Job Description Performs high-quality CT examinations according to provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis. Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications. Prepares and administers IV contrast following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions. Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained. Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. Educates patients about the exam and completes all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time. Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages. Practices infection control standards and uses approved PPE and disinfectant agents. Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintain radiation safety and ALARA principles. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging. Document exams accurately in the EMR and PACS systems. Educate patients about the exam and maintain workflow efficiency. Operate imaging equipment safely and adapt protocols for all patient ages. Practice infection control and use approved PPE. Follow protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures. Perform additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Effective communication with diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of CT procedures and scanners. Ability to learn and grow with new technology. CT safety knowledge, including radiation safety for patients, families, and co-workers. Conversational English proficiency. Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge. Analytical skills to assess data, techniques, and equipment operation. Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations. Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Proficiency with radiology software, scanners, workstations, and EMR. Ability to learn and follow departmental policies and procedures. Regulatory compliance to maintain necessary registries and licenses. Understanding of basic radiation safety concepts to keep exposure levels low. Timely completion of exams to meet ED/Observation turnaround goals. Competence in assessing, starting, and confirming IV placement for contrast studies. Capability to perform imaging studies on patients of all ages. Proficiency in reconstructions and post-processing. Education & Experience Education: Associate (Preferred), Bachelor's (Preferred), High School Graduate or Equivalency (Required) Work Experience: 1+ year of related experience (Required) Licenses & Certifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) (Required) Basic Life Support – CPR Certificate (BLS) (Required) Medical Radiology Technologist (MRT) (Required) Physical Requirements Physical requirements for this position include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
