Location: Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, Brattleboro, VT

Start Date: 12/01/2026 (flexible)

Shift: Monday-Friday, 9 am 6 pm (in-person)

Hours per Week: 40

Employment Type: Locum/Contract

Certification: Valid PA license in Vermont required

Experience: At least 2 years in acute care/inpatient settings

What You'll Do

• Manage an inpatient/adult observation patient population, approximately 8-10 patients daily
• Respond to codes and rapid response calls
• Assist with ventilator management and care for step-down patients
• Stabilize critically ill patients and facilitate transfers to higher-level care
• Document patient encounters using Cerner Community Works EMR and AI scribe support
• Collaborate with nursing, ED, and surgical teams to ensure seamless patient care
• Contribute to a welcoming, friendly environment at a small community hospital

What You Need

Required:

• Valid Physician Assistant license in Vermont
• 2+ years of inpatient/acute care experience
• Strong communication and clinical skills
• Ability to handle high-acuity patients and respond to emergencies

Preferred:

• Ventilator management experience
• Experience in a community hospital setting
