Founding Marketing Coordinator

Job Description

We are starting a brand new business inside our business, from scratch.

In this role, you would be getting your hands dirty launching new campaigns directly alongside the founding team members (CEO, CPO, Founding Head of Marketing)

At Variant Group, we have been building easy-to-use document products for five years. Millions of people use them. Now it is time for our biggest bet yet, using everything we’ve got.

So what exactly are we up to?

We are building documents.com — an all-in-one document workspace: one product that replaces and improves on Acrobat, DocuSign, and Dropbox. It gets the boring stuff done quickly and correctly.

Our existing document business, pdf.net, is bootstrapped, profitable, and growing on paid search. We know how to buy growth. At documents.com, we will earn it through brand, content, and ideas that put the product in people’s hands before they’ve heard of us. Show, don’t tell.

The marketing team is being built right now, and this is one of the first seats.

The job

You will be central to making campaigns happen. You are in the room where new bets are formed, and then you will be the one getting the pieces in place for them to go live.

Any given week, that might mean drafting outreach to a hundred small businesses and tracking who replied, setting up the landing page and the tracking for a new experiment, pulling the numbers on last week's launch and interpreting what they say, finding the Reddit threads where people complain about paperwork and showing up with something useful, or briefing a designer and chasing the asset. You'll touch every part of the function, because at this stage there's no part of it that's someone else's job.
