Work Environment

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital in Riverside, California. You will work Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling options between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This structured work environment encourages teamwork among healthcare professionals, including physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists, fostering a holistic approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in performing thorough evaluations and assessments to determine patients' physical conditions and rehabilitation needs.
• Implement and adhere to treatment protocols designed by Physical Therapists to optimize patient mobility, strength, and functional ability.
• Provide hands-on manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and utilize various modalities for the treatment of musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment methods, and any changes in condition per regulatory guidelines.
• Educate patients and their families on appropriate home exercise programs, the use of adaptive equipment, and strategies to prevent re-injury.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to ensure well-rounded and comprehensive patient care at all times.
• Engage in professional development activities, including seeking advanced certifications to stay current with treatment techniques and industry best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will work primarily with orthopedic patients of varying ages and mobility levels who are recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain disorders. Qualifications

• Mandatory completion of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• A valid California PTA license and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families effectively.
• Strong clinical assessment abilities, complemented by a proactive approach to patient care and rehabilitation.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an orthopedic or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from $50,000 to $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
