Freedom Boat Club - Boating Instructor in Southeast, FL (South Miami Dade-Islamorada)

Position Overview Instructor for the Freedom Boat Club training team. Responsible for virtual classroom and on‑the‑water training through a flexible part‑time schedule. Requires a US Coast Guard Captain with excellent customer service skills. The role includes greeting new members, conducting classroom and water instruction, managing certifications, handling minor incidents, and engaging potential members. Essential Functions Greet and welcome new members Organize and conduct member classroom and water training on skill, policy, and compliance areas Identify areas requiring additional training and record training certifications in the reservation system Maintain a professional appearance and uniform Handle minor member mishaps or incidents while remaining friendly Provide a red‑carpet level of treatment to members and guests Speak with potential members about the club Complete additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications US Coast Guard Captains license Pass a background check and drug screen Valid driver’s license with good driving record Boating experience in or around boats Good vision to read and manipulate handheld computer tablets Electronics knowledge and utilization of smartphones/tablets Maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity Cooperative, team attitude when working with supervisors and colleagues Highly effective communication skills and friendly customer service Self‑starter capable of working unsupervised High attention to detail Adhere to all safety policies Preferred Qualifications Previous instructor experience Working Conditions Moving between docks and boats on unstable or wet surfaces Large drops (~4 ft) down to vessels and back up to dock Stand for long periods of time Work outside elements (heat, rain, cold, general extreme weather) Work in a marina setting on fixed or floating docks Work near and on the water and safely move on, off, and in vessels under various tide and weather conditions Pay and Benefits • Anticipated pay rate: $22/hr • Eligible to participate in Brunswick benefit offerings, including 401(k) up to 4% match, wellbeing program, and product purchase discounts Equal Opportunity Employer Brunswick is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
