Mechanical Design Engineer

HCLTech is looking for a highly talented and self-motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join it in advancing the technological world through innovation and creativity. Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Job ID: 125213 Position Type: Full-time with HCLTech Location: San Jose, California, United States Role/Responsibilities Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures. Design and deliver next-generation networking systems (modular and fixed chassis) and cards that meet customer requirements. Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast materials that comply with EMI, safety, and other standards. Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX and detailed drawings applying GD&T principles. Perform 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro‑mechanical assemblies. Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve design issues impacting field or production. Exchange PCB design IDF files with ECAD/hardware teams and address mechanical integrity concerns. Host peer and cross‑functional design reviews. Proficiency in 3D MCAD tools (Creo/NX). Experience with sheet metal design for mid to high volumes, GD&T, and tolerance analysis. Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die‑cast tooling.
