About the Opportunity

The Carrie Meek Foundation carries forward the work of Congresswoman Carrie Meek — the first Black Floridian since Reconstruction elected to Congress and a lifelong advocate for the communities of Miami-Dade County. Her legacy lives on through the Foundation's work across Education, Housing, Health, and Economic Development, and through initiatives like the Carrie Meek Aviation Workforce Innovation Center and the Supporting Safer Communities Grant Program, which is putting millions of dollars directly into neighborhood-level safety and opportunity. As the Foundation grows its footprint and its grant portfolio, it needs someone who can build the internal infrastructure to match the scale of that ambition. This is a foundational role: you won't just be managing budgets and compliance; you'll be building the systems that let a mission-driven, community-rooted organization operate with the rigor its funders and the families it serves deserve. Purpose: Builds the internal backbone of the organization for systems, processes, compliance, and day-to-day functioning. It ensures administrative support, financial infrastructure, and grant compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

● Create and implement systems for office administration, internal processes and workflows, and standard operating procedures

● Responsible for bookkeeping, budget development, financial tracking and reporting, and financial dashboards, including grant budgets and financial compliance

● Support for grant writing (budget narratives, financial attachments)

● Assist with HR administration, onboarding, and compliance

● Coordinate scheduling, organizational calendar, and internal communications

● Oversee technology systems (project management, document storage, data, fundraising, communication tools)

● Ensure functional clarity and accountability across the organization

Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, or related field

● 7+ years of operations, finance, or nonprofit administration experience

● Strong organizational and process management skills

● Experience with budgeting and administrative systems

● Experience managing federal grants

● Ability to manage multiple priorities independently

● Passion for community impact and mission-driven work
