About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric ER RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience in an Adult/Pedi combined ED or a Pediatric ED License: Pending licenses accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, ENPC Must-Have: ENPC prior to signing COVID vaccination required - religious and medical exemptions accepted with completion of COVID exemption form, signed by a provider. Description: No locals within 100 miles. Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend days constitute Saturday and Sunday, weekend nights are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Ratios are 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends, but can increase when the unit is busy. Travelers must have strong emergency room experience if limited travel experience. Admission holds may occur during high census periods. Experience with triage, pediatric dosage calculations, phlebotomy, starting IVs, interpretation of 12 Lead EKG, and interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias is preferred. Floating to pediatric admission floors is required; floating to adult ED is optional. Travelers are expected to work two of the three winter holiday bundles. Staffing ratios may increase during busy periods, and trauma/resuscitation experience is preferred. Additional skills preferred include arterial line management, blood product administration, and gastrostomy tube placement. Unit may occasionally board admission holds, leading to longer boarding periods during high census. Must possess strong pediatric ER experience and be able to interpret EKGs and manage cardiac dysrhythmias. Travelers are encouraged to begin compliance promptly to meet deadlines. Failure to meet required qualifications may lead to disqualification from the position.
