Float South Austin Region - Branch Member Service Representative - Full Time with Sign-On Bonus

Position: Branch Member Service Representative (Float) We are hiring a full‑time Float for the South Austin Region with starting compensation of $20.00 per hour. Sign‑on bonuses: $250 in the first paycheck, $500 after 90 days, $500 after six months. Bilingual (Spanish/English) employees can earn an additional $2.00 per hour upon completion of the RBFCU Bilingual certification. Locations: Buda, Lockhart, and Kyle branches. Job Overview In this role you will serve as the face of RBFCU, delivering exceptional service to members and prospective members. You will perform teller duties while acting as a personal banker, assess fraud risk, manage customer interactions, and promote RBFCU products and services. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Provide enthusiastic, professional, quality, prompt, and courteous service to members, prospective members, and RBFCU team. Process a variety of transactions in person, via video conference, drive‑thru, and telephonic channels. Maintain control of cash and negotiable instruments in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory laws. Engage members and prospective members in consultative, needs‑based conversations, asking open‑ended questions and demonstrating empathy to uncover financial needs and recommend appropriate products, consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals. Support the RBFCU sales culture and ensure branch standards by reinforcing best practices, modeling consultative behaviors, and holding a high level of self‑accountability to performance expectations. Serve as a Branch Reservist, taking calls for the Member Service Center to handle incoming requests from members. Assess all deposits for potential fraud and for impersonation to mitigate fraud losses. Assist members and prospective members with needs that involve other internal departments such as Consumer Lending, Mortgage, and Credit Union Service Organizations, while complying with applicable policies, procedures and regulatory laws. Qualify members; assist with opening, updating, and closing accounts, maintaining a current working knowledge of the RBFCU Membership and Account Agreement. Prepare various teller reports and escort members into designated areas when requested. Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions. Maintain the ability to train and work at any branch within the region depending on business need. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements High School diploma or GED. Six months of work experience (financial institution, customer service or sales experience preferred). Attendance and promptness are essential; ability to work a flexible Monday through Saturday schedule. Must be able to cover staffing at any location within the region if needed, including branch transfers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to solve problems, make timely and informed decisions, and apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Proficient in utilizing PC, software, and other office equipment. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Good vision (correctable), hearing, and manual dexterity; ability to reach with hands and arms; ability to speak clearly.
