Job Details Position: Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PCU RN) Employment Type: Travel Nursing Setting: Progressive Care Unit / Med Surg Overflow Location: Wichita Falls, TX 76301 Shift: 12-hour nights Schedule: 36 hours per week with an alternating 36/48-hour schedule Duration: 13 weeks Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,820 - $1,910 Orientation: 36 hours Floating: Required to float between Med Surg and PCU Weekend Coverage: As needed, including frequent weekends during the contract Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before the start date Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required Travel nursing experience strongly preferred Experience with Epic charting strongly preferred Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients Ability to manage a patient load in a high-acuity stepdown environment Must be willing to float and work an alternating schedule Responsibilities Provide skilled nursing care for Progressive Care Unit and Med Surg overflow patients Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition promptly Support patients with cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and insulin protocols as needed Perform assessments, medication administration, and ongoing care planning Manage common PCU interventions such as oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and wound care Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, efficient patient care Document accurately in the electronic health record and maintain high standards of charting Adapt to a fast-paced environment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care Apply now for this PCU RN travel nursing job in Wichita Falls, Texas, and take the next step in your healthcare career today.
