Details Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM 1:4 patient ratio at night, occasionally 1:5 Divisional floating required, including overflow and ED holds Required to work 2-3 holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with prior travel experience required Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required; CPI preferred Epic charting experience strongly preferred Experience with cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC settings Skills in IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, and interpreting dysrhythmias Nursys, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS documentation required at time of consideration Additional Information Provide care for neurological and cardiac stepdown patients, including CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and TBI cases Manage medication protocols including heparin and insulin drips Perform wound care and isolation precaution procedures as needed Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing; a positive result results in automatic cancellation Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to accepting an offer License must be in hand prior to start date First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-749927.
