Payroll Director

Key Responsibilities Lead enterprise-wide payroll operations across a complex, multi‑state healthcare organization. Provide strategic leadership to a payroll organization consisting of 2 Payroll Managers and approximately 40 indirect team members. Serve as the business leader for a major payroll ERP system, partnering with HR, Finance, and IT to support ongoing system optimization. Lead post-go‑live payroll system activities, including quarterly release testing, payroll validation, troubleshooting, and enhancement efforts. Drive payroll process improvements, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across multiple payroll cycles. Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting, and system functionality. Support the transition of additional payroll functions back in‑house as the organization continues to mature its payroll systems environment. Required Qualifications 10+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience within a large, complex organization. Hands‑on experience with a major payroll ERP system (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP) is required. Demonstrated experience supporting a large‑scale payroll system after implementation, including quarterly release testing, troubleshooting, payroll validation, and post‑go‑live optimization. Experience serving as the Payroll business lead or Payroll SME working alongside HRIS and IT teams. Multi‑state payroll leadership experience. Experience leading payroll teams within a shared services or enterprise environment. Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, payroll accounting, and payroll operation. Preferred Qualifications Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred. Experience with modern cloud‑based payroll and HCM platforms. Experience supporting payroll system optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience with payroll process automation and operational transformation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
