HVAC Sales Technician / Comfort Advisor

We are looking for an experienced HVAC professional who understands residential systems and can confidently guide homeowners through repair, replacement, and indoor air quality options. Our approach is educational and customer-focused—we provide honest recommendations without high-pressure sales tactics. Position Summary The HVAC Sales Technician will visit customers’ homes, evaluate their heating and cooling needs, identify system concerns, and present clear solutions using upfront pricing. This position requires a strong combination of HVAC knowledge, customer-service skills, and sales ability. The ideal candidate can build trust with homeowners, explain technical information in plain language, develop accurate estimates, follow up on opportunities, and help customers make informed decisions that fit their comfort needs and budget. Responsibilities Meet with homeowners to evaluate their HVAC systems and comfort concerns Perform system assessments and identify repair, replacement, airflow, ductwork, and indoor air quality needs Gather the information required for accurate equipment sizing and replacement proposals Explain system conditions and recommendations in clear, easy-to-understand language Develop and present multiple repair or replacement options using upfront pricing Educate customers on heat pumps, air handlers, package units, ductless systems, thermostats, ductwork, maintenance plans, UV lights, and other indoor air quality products Discuss available financing options and assist customers with the application process when needed Build estimates and proposals accurately in ServiceTitan Obtain customer authorization, signatures, deposits, and required documentation Follow up promptly on open estimates and unsold opportunities Coordinate sold projects with office staff, installers, management, and suppliers Take accurate measurements and jobsite photographs Provide complete notes so installation teams understand the proposed scope of work Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the sales process Meet established sales, conversion, follow-up, and customer-satisfaction goals Represent Aire Serv professionally at every appointment Follow company procedures, safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes Protect customer information and maintain accurate sales records Qualifications Three or more years of residential HVAC experience Strong knowledge of residential heating and cooling systems Understanding of heat pumps, split systems, air handlers, package units, ductless systems, airflow, ductwork, and static pressure Previous HVAC sales, service, comfort-advisor, or replacement-estimating experience preferred Ability to recognize when repair is appropriate and when replacement should be presented Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills Ability to explain technical information without overwhelming the customer Comfortable discussing pricing, financing, and customer concerns Strong organizational and follow-up skills Experience using ServiceTitan or a similar field-service platform preferred EPA Section 608 certification Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record Ability to pass applicable background and driving-record checks Professional appearance and dependable attendance Ability to work independently while contributing to a team Comfortable using a smartphone, tablet, and digital sales tools Ability to access attics, use ladders, inspect equipment, and perform the physical duties required for an in-home HVAC assessment Compensation and Benefits Competitive base pay and commission structure based on experience Performance-based commissions and spiffs Paid training and ongoing professional development Company vehicle and fuel card Company-provided uniforms Paid time off Paid holidays Opportunities for advancement as the company grows What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is honest, reliable, motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of the entire sales process.
