The Medical Front Desk Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operation of a medium-sized physician office. Reporting to the Office Manager, this role involves managing patient flow, handling payments, and maintaining accurate patient records using an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Working Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm, the receptionist is often the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and managing communications within the office.
Responsibilities
- Register patients and verify information upon check-in/check-out
- Schedule appointments and manage calendar efficiently
- Process payments in person and over the phone accurately
- Handle incoming phone calls and direct to appropriate staff
- Manage patient records and organize documentation as it arrives
- Maintain the queue to keep patient flow smooth and timely
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
- Input data accurately into the Electronic Health Records system
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years experience in medical office administration
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with patient registration and appointment scheduling
- Strong customer service and phone communication skills
- Proficient in data entry and record management
- Experience with multi-line phone systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
