Title: Property Accountant

Location: West Houston, TX

Pay: $37-$38/hour

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join their accounting team in West Houston. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of property accounting experience and a strong understanding of full-cycle accounting. Experience with Yardi and/or MRI is highly preferred . This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end close, and managing accounting activities for assigned properties.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned properties
• Prepare monthly financial statements and property-level financial reports
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries and recurring entries
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities related to assigned properties
• Review and reconcile property income and expenses
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare variance analyses and investigate discrepancies
• Review property budgets and compare actual results to budget
• Assist with CAM reconciliations and tenant-related accounting
• Work with property management teams to resolve accounting discrepancies
• Support audits and provide requested financial documentation
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Property Accounting experience required
• 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience required
• Yardi and/or MRI experience highly preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
