Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Budget Officer, the Analyst III independently performs and coordinates highly complex technical fiscal activities related to the development, preparation, justification, and administration of the Annual Budget of the Department of Justice. This includes the preparation of complex fiscal analyses and leading technical responsibility for special projects, as requested by the Executive Office. The incumbent functions as a highly skilled technical analyst responsible for independently resolving complex fiscal issues that have Department-wide budgetary and policy implications, including, but not limited to the migration effort to Fi$Cal.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience with California state budgeting, technical budget development and management of appropriations , budget augmentations, and fiscal administration.
- Experience with FI$Cal, including implementation, business operations, report validation, interfacing, testing, training, and change management.
- Experience conducting complex fiscal analyses, reconciliations, expenditure monitoring, and budget reporting.
- Ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve complex fiscal, budgetary, and system-related issues.
- Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills, including presenting recommendations to management and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
