At Northrop Grumman, you'll have the resources, support, and team to do some of the best work of your career.We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal/ Senior Principal BIT Systems Engineer based out of Linthicum, MD and will require 100% on-site work.What You'll get to Do: As a lead Built-In-Test (BIT) Systems Engineer in support of the MLSS business Unit you will apply strong systems engineering knowledge and understanding across disciplines and work with the various systems, hardware, and software teams.Verifying that BIT Mode functions and systems operate effectively, ensuring errors are captured, corrected, or compensated for without impacting sensor performance.Derive BIT requirementsDesign of the BIT and Fault Isolation/Detection mode(s)Evaluating the effectiveness of modeling and analysisGaining a deep understanding of Sensors Hardware capabilitiesLeading a team to develop and integrate software using C++ and PythonDefine requirements to maintain system performance.Verify embedded implementation of the BIT mode.Produce publication-quality documentation and supporting Factory Test activitiesEngaging in system integration and test activities, as well as providing field support.This requestion may be filled as a Principal BIT Systems Engineer or a Senior Principal BIT Systems EngineerThis position is contingent upon the successful transfer of an active U.S Government Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access.Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, master's degree with 3 years of experience or Ph.D. with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may beU.S Citizenship is requiredA current/active U.S. Government Secret ClearanceAbility to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).Experience with MATLAB for Data AnalysisDomain experience in sensor simulations for RF sensorsExperience with integration and test of RADAR, SIGINT, or EW systemsExperience in reviewing C/C++ codeBasic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer:Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience or Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeU.S Citizenship is requiredA current/active U.S. Government Secret ClearanceAbility to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).Experience with MATLAB for Data AnalysisDomain experience in sensor simulations for RF sensorsExperience with integration and test of RADAR, SIGINT, or EW systemsExperience in reviewing C/C++ codePreferred Qualifications:Advanced degrees in in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higherNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
